Willie “Chris” Bentley
Willie “Chris” Bentley, Jr. is the descendent of a long line of community philanthropists and business owners, right here in South FL. After completing a Bachelors of Science Degree at the University of Central Florida, educational & career pursuits landed Chris in New York City, working for a prestigious Ivy League institution where he oversaw construction supplier diversity and strategic initiatives for a multi billion-dollar expansion project. Shortly after pursuing a Masters degree in negotiations and conflict resolution at Columbia University, Chris returned home, embraced his philanthropic roots, and established Live Fresh Inc., an organization whose aim is to provide homeless men, women, and children with a fresh shower, personal hygiene essentials, and the opportunity to “Live Fresh”. Chris feels, in doing this, we create a platform for refreshed communities, who generate fresh ideas, and begin embodying the notion that “Feeling Revitalized Encourages Sustainable Happiness.”
People Magazine has recognized Chris Bentley as a “Hero Among Us”. Although very honored, Chris feels he has so much more to-do and so many more lives to touch. Most recently, Chris joined The Salvation Army as the Northwest Community Center Director.
Chris honors God, looks up to his parents, and is guided by the words of President Barack Obama. “A change is brought about because ordinary people do extraordinary things.” “Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”
